So on Friday we are moving to Emeryville from the Elmwood neighborhood in Berkeley. We just bought a condo on Park Ave. There any good hangouts or other cool stuff going on in Emeryville I should know about?

Condo on Park? Are you in the Emeryvillewarehouse? If so, send me an email and I'll put on the building email list. Did you go to the party tonight?

Try Cuppa Cabana on Park and San Pablo. We like to support them though their lattes are variable. The owners are really nice. Next door to Cuppa Cabana is Arismendi Bakery. Semi Freddy's is on Hollis just up from Park. Excellent bread, try the Emery batard. Dense and tasty.

Also, you might want to join the Park Avenue Neighborhod Association (PANA) if you are interested in community events.

      Yay! A new neighbor.

We are indeed in the Warehouse lofts ... I just sent you a message with my email.

I'd love to join PANA ... can you send me info on that as well? And thanks for the recommendations!

It's Arizmendi Bakery & Pizzeria. I am a worker/owner there. We are a co-op. We have great scones, muffins, and pecan rolls for breakfast. For lunch we have pizza and salads and lots of other yummy stuff all day. Our coffee also gets great compliments. We're right next to Cuppa Cabana, and there is a courtyard in between where you can hang out. We have live music at noon on Saturday and Sunday. We love our neighbors.

The Emeryville public market has lots of great international food.

        So Valerian,

When are you guys gonna get a bike-through window for the morning communters?

We can call from our house, give you the ATM number, and when we bike by you hold it out the window.

I know, it's my personal dream world without cars.

        Cheers.

So, my problem with Arizmendi is that I try to avoid white flour. From your ingredients cards, it seems like *everything* you make has white flour as the main ingredient! Do more multi-grain, whole grain, whole wheat stuff and I'd love you guys!

we do have some whole grain breads...on Wednesdays and saturdays we do a multigrain bread, honey whole wheat is on thursdays, and corn oat molasses on sunday. the first two breads have no white flour and the corn oat molasses bread has about equal parts white and whole wheat flours.

We've also been experimenting with whole grain scones. We currently do an oat scone, which does have quite a bit of white flour, but we've been playing around with spelt scones...nothing we've tried out on the public yet, but I'll let you know if we start with something like that.

        We also have salads now.

also--our ingredients are frequently not quite listed in order....it's a problem, I know, but with the mixed flour stuff, you can't always be sure from our signs how much of what is in something. Feel free to ask.
